Pictured above is the living room with a dining table and chairs, flat-screen TV, sofa and armchairs. The living room opens onto the balcony which is 8 sq m (85 sq ft) and also has a dining table and chairs. TV can be in the living room or bedroom. In these pictures it is in the bedroom.

The bedroom has a queen size bed, 2 x 1.4m (6'6" x 4'6") and a view to the back of the building over the boulevard Stalingrad. The air conditioning is fed through from the living room, which keeps it nice and cool in summer.

Bathroom has bath and overhead shower, and a handbasin. There is a separate WC with handbasin.

The building's entrance   Even the Neptune building's inner courtyard is lovely

From the doorstep of the apartment building   Traditional wooden fishing boats in the harbour

The entrance of 'Le Neptune' typifies the building - one of Nice's best addresses, right on the harbour with its mixture of old wooden fishing boats, luxury yachts and ferries to Corsica. This is a lovely part of Nice, safe and charming, with countless restaurants and shops close at hand, the Marché des Fleurs round the corner, the beach a 10-minute walk. Restaurants range from the simple to the great.

The ambience is very much 'old Nice' not at all like the Promenade des Anglais with its smoked-glass buildings and traffic. The airport is 15 minutes drive.

Parking

Parking in Nice can be very difficult, and even if you find a space, expensive. Fortunately you can walk everywhere within Nice from the apartment but you may well rent a car to explore further afield. The owner has a parking space in the building's basement car-park (accessed by the lift), and this can be rented by the week for 50 euros. The amount is added to the rental rate at the time of booking.
